the Silmarillion by tomato-bird the Silmarillion by tomato-bird
my original version of a comic book cover for the silmarillion. I think it's much more colorful than the regular, but for a tragic story of loss it's a bit too happy and glorious. still....

the two figures on the left and right are supposed to be Manwe and Varda.

I love how you twisted the Tengwar into our alphabet!!! *admiration* AWESOME! *tries to make out your name* I will succeed in this sooner or later!

Anyway, I love how the Trees just...connected, and the pictures are all separated by their roots. Awesome. Nice ship, too. And ooh, I see the Silmarils! Maybe they should've been made *shiny!* but hey. ^~^

To be honest, I thought Taniquetil was a building too... wasn't it a mountain? *cocks head* Anyway, still brilliant. *admiration again* Never quite succeeded in making any sort of cover for the book...

the tengwar letters are the watermark, typed up with an elvish font I downloaded. And yeah... Taniquetil was a mountain AND a building, I think.... Palace built into the mountain?... Idonno.

I don't really like it, because I've "studied" (note the quote marks) the tengwar a bit, and the "L" tengwa looks like the Elvish font "T" and the "R" tengwa looks like the elvish font "y" and it's a bit annoying. IT's pretty though!

Hm...that's why I liked the font... Because it was creative how it was twisted into our alphabet...hee. But I'm so used to writing in the Tengwar (oh, you should see my notebooks!) that it's a little hard to read...but once you get used to it, it's nice...

To me. Hee. ^~^

Writing in tengwar as in the language? or writing tengwar style? I had this Tengwar phase for a long time where I would write quenya all over my homework. :D BTW, have you seen Ardalambion?[link] it's this awesome site dedicated to Tolkien's languages, run by this Norwegian Linguist guy. It's really in depth!

Me? Tengwar, for English: [link]

And I only got into the Tengwar these past months (summer here) and school is just starting next week so...I might do that too, all over my notebooks and homework! :D POWER TO THE TOLKIENDILI!!!

And yeah, I've seen Ardalambion...it's so awesome, isn't it? :D

And Ardalambion= definitely.

This is really good. I like how you drew the trees and the Tengwar. Are the figures below Varda, Beren and Luthien? Is the tower in the center supposed to stand for Gondolin or Tirion?

THe tower is supposed to be Taniquetil, the "olympus" of the Valar... and yeah it's varda, beren, and luthien. This is a bit of an old pic, so I don't appreciate it as much, but glad you like it anyway!
